Green Future Limited contracted by Rwandatel and Uganda telecom, both owned partly by Libyan African Investment Portfolio (LAP), to bring fibre optic cable to both Uganda and Rwanda by January next year.
The company will connect a fibre optic loop from Kampala, Uganda to Kigali, Rwanda.
The company said in a statement issued that the fibre optic cable, which is expected to provide Internet broadband to Rwanda will reach the Katuna border post of Rwanda by next month.
The company that recently got the contract to lay fibre cables from Uganda to Rwanda is currently providing Internet capacity of about 30 Mega bytes/sec through an infrastructure called microwave technology.
According to the statement, the cables will take one more month to reach Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda.
The firm recently secured $300m (Rwf170.4b) fund offered by the Chinese government through the LAP Green Network, a Libyan telecom firm.
The money will be used to fund the Libyan African Investment Portfolio (LAP) Green’s telecommunication operations in Africa. Rwandatel is set also to benefit from the funds.
In September, Rwandatel and its sister company in Uganda, UTL, signed a partnership deal with SEACOM to provide the fibre connection.
After the connection Rwandatel’s Internet subscriber base is projected to increase by 10 percent in the first 12 months.

I wish to see fire-optic services provided on Libyan soil, before going all the way to make it available to countries that are happy to have a cell phones network only.
Don't take me as being pessimistic, or under estimating Libyan ingenuity, but there are priorities, and Libyans should be number #1.
Thanks for the updates Wissam!

Sometimes it's a human thing and have nothing to do with pay back, give then take it feels so normal give and give and you will feel happy ^_^.
