When you subscribe to this service your phone line is connected to the LTT’s equipments which are located through out the phone company’s switches, which enables you accessing the Internet and making phones calls at the same time. We’ll supply you with ADSL modem that you can use to connect your PC to the Internet.
Nowadays they even provide you with a Sagem Modem that have wireless and network ports so it’s also a router and an access point, that’s great but it is a security thread since not all clients will secure the wireless with an access key.
This is a big problem since anyone can connect to your router may be your neighborhood and steal your bandwidth and so your money, even if you don’t care about people using your internet you must care about them playing in your setting, that wouldn’t be nice, as they can also steal your login and password that LTT provided you in the contract.
If you have this router as seen on the image:

SAGEM F@st™ 2400 / 2404
then please follow these steps to secure and protect your internet connection.
1- In your web browser type in: “http://myrouter” and press “Enter”
2- If you didn’t setup a password before type in username: “admin” and password: “admin” as it’s the default user name and password.
3- Go to wireless setting.
4- Click on generate to generate a random password “You must be connected using LAN since this will disconnect you if you are over wireless and you wont see the new password”, Or type in a manual password like your phone number that’s an easy thing to guess lol.
Thats all for now, best regards.

I can’t find the option “generate” step no.4 there is just the word BASIC underneath the wireless option. Please help me to secure my wireless network from being used by others.
thanks
September 23rd, 2008 at 1:35 PM
My friend Ahmed, don’t worry, you still can use manual password, just put a numbers and letters password and you will be safe.
This is weird in your case because it’s one of the default options that comes inside the modem firmware.
I believe that by the time I am writing this you already secured your network.

September 23rd, 2008 at 7:15 PM
but its wireless range isn’t that far specially with the kind of walls we have in libya.
for example the router is in my room, and when i use the internet from another room i can hardly get a signal.
September 24th, 2008 at 3:47 AM
It’s ok I am glade you figured it out ^_^, and Lord-nikon, yes it’s hard to get signals but not in all cases, open “Net Stumbler” in your laptop and take a ride in the city while scanning you will be amazed by the results, in 1st of September street alone you will find more then 30 networks with good and fair signals and half of them are unsecured.
September 24th, 2008 at 12:35 PM
I get frequent internet interruptions. I have to reset the router (sagem 2404) to resume internet connections. This happens so often. I access the internet wirelessly on two computers, a laptop and desktop both uses Windows XP help please? Thanks
September 24th, 2008 at 3:14 PM
From what I understand Saleh, the internet disconnects from the modem it self, so it stops at the same time in both computers, not a wireless problem, you must:
Check setting, may be you set it to disconnect when not in use “If Idle for 5 mins or so disconnect”.
if the internet just disconnects in one of your computers while you still can use it in the other, it’s a problem in your laptop or PC, and should fix it by using wireless utility for your wireless card to configure network, instead of Windows Zero Config utility.
Try and tell me.
September 25th, 2008 at 1:18 AM
wissam, what you said about the unsecured networks is true, but most of them are from internet cafes, they should be experinced enough to secure their networks.
and by the way i’m from benghazi.
September 25th, 2008 at 2:39 AM
That’s a good point Lord-nikon may be in other streets, but in 1st of September there is only 3 internet cafes, and they are in the start and the end of the street, may be also shops including houses.
Welcome from Benghazi I know that there is a lot of talent people like you there, you guys rocks ^_~.
September 25th, 2008 at 2:37 PM
hi wissam,do you know anyone that has connected his playstation3 to the internet? because i did and i can’t find anyone from libya.
so….maybe you know someone?!
September 25th, 2008 at 3:42 PM
No, I don’t know anyone playing online or browsing the web, it’s rare that people go online with PS3 since they don’t care about online gaming and they have computers to brows the web better.
but I will try to start a small community if I can.
September 27th, 2008 at 11:28 AM
if the admin password is changed
how can I know the new password???
I know that I can access it using (username:user & pass:user) but thats not enough for me
September 27th, 2008 at 1:10 PM
My friend “CONFUSED” from Amsterdam, the solution is simple, a hard reset, just take a pen and stick inside the small little hole “Reset”. ^_^
September 27th, 2008 at 1:41 PM
I figered out that the wireless connection is faster than the ethernet link. Also I found that the wireless connection in SAGEM modem is strong enough to reach the nieghbers cuz I’m puting my modem upstairs and I’m getting a very good signal downstairs and my regards to all of you guyz and about the ps3 I’m in love with video games but I can’t afford it
I like the PSE game but I dobt that the internet speed is good enough to be safe from interruptions. your friend Ahmed from Sabha
September 27th, 2008 at 1:47 PM
Thank you Ahmed for the information, that’s a good confirmation of my experience and the fact that we must secure our connections, more then just using your internet anyone also can sniff your packets means : Reading data and passwords over the network, even what you are saying in IM programs like Yahoo.
Also he can use your IP to hack into networks, and you will be responsible not him.
September 27th, 2008 at 2:33 PM
you’re welcom brother Wissam, Also they would reduce your balance amount sice it is limited by 7GB or so per month. ah I have a good question for you dear. if I didn’t use the whole amount of my balance, will it be reserved to me for the next month for example if I have 2GB remaining from this month, will I have 9GB since I’m new subscriber. however I doubt so
thank you for helping me brother and good to knowing you
September 27th, 2008 at 2:38 PM
I am so sorry to tell you that’s not possible, by the end of the month your ADSL will reset to zero, and if you finish it before time you need to wait until the end of month to renew or buy an extra 1gb for 20 dinars.
September 27th, 2008 at 9:38 PM
hi ahmed, the internet speed connection is just fine if you play online with people from close countries such as (italy, spain, france, germany, egypt, and even UK and saudi arabia),but if you play with people from austuralia for example you will get something called “lag”and the connection will be slow.
and if you get ps3 in the near future,i advice to connect it to the internet and play online”it’s a whole different world”.

Has anyone had experience with a http://www.MerchantCashAdvance.com? Merchant cash advance companies like this loan your small business money based on your future credit card receivables and do not care about your credit. Is this a good idea? The interest rates for these small business loans look pretty high but it looks like it might be good idea if you cannot get a loan from a bank. This one company basically asked me what my average credit card receivables were for my restaurant over the past 4 months and offered to wire me the average of this within three to four business days. I cannot get a small business loan from a bank due to the credit crisis so any experiences with this type of small business loan/credit card factoring would be appreciated!

Just came along this very nice solution, I bought it a couple of days ago and it works great.
It is a self-powered HSDPA Stick, very small with a internal antenna which can be exchanged for a BIG one, enhancing the receiption. Even with the small antenna, reception is great, better than on my HTC TyTN and Palm Treo 750v.
The USB modem doesn’t eat too much performace, you get almost the same battery life like with WLan activated (it has to be turned off when using the USB UMTS/3G modem).
The only downside is: the price tag. I paid almost 49Euro for this little baby but to be honest, it is worth every single cent. It is really small, aprox. the size of half of a cigarette package.
Here’s the link to the product, I bought it from a retailer in Germany.
Check this Page -> Aldi
There were also Windows Vista and Windows 7 drivers available on the CD-ROM which came with the modem but I tried to install them and Vista recognized the modem for a couple of minutes but then drops the connection and tells me that it can’t detect the modem. Apparently the drivers aren’t fully compatible yet, so I’m using this modem with Windows XP Pro only right now. It is however a very good sign that there are already Vista drivers available, meaning that sooner or later, full support without any more trouble will be available.

Hey Guys, I finally decided to make an account on here after months of lurking lol so please bear with me…
Since the community here is so awesome, I thought I’d share a few sites that I’ve been frequenting lately and share a secret.
The first site is leetboss.com, its an awesome place to get great deals on electronics and watches. shipping’s free too (not quite sure how it works out for them but hey, thats not my problem.) so that’s a plus.
I also like going to volume rate. Prices aren’t as good as Leetboss (no free shipping, unfortunately), and some of their goods come slightly damaged because of bad packaging, but their selection is nice.
I often use these sites to make some quick cash. I go onto them and pick an item like the r4i sdhc which is really cheap. Then I post them on forums and sell them online as a drop shipper. Last month I made over $1000 in profits, as a college student the money really comes in handy.
I hope your finals all well if you have any and good luck making some quick ca$$$h.
Happy Holidays,
Creen
