wimax libya Wimax To Be Released Soon in Tripoli

LTT Wimax Station Setup

I took a longer time then promised, but we must not be greedy, it’s ramadan and everything works slower or even stops for a break, LTT actualy started to plant Wimax stations all over Tripoli, and some companies in Dahra are actually beta testing the Wimax service, the information leaked in Libyan forums says that the price will be 50 LYD for a speed of 1MB/S and that the speed rate could be up to 16MB/S, anyway this still rumor yet we need to wait to know how much really it’s going to cost and is it really as fast as 1-16MB/s.

do we have unlimited download capacity?
because the current 7GB are killing me. :(

    2. wissam Says:

They say it will be free for the first 2 months, but after that they might set the bandwidth to 7Gb but I think higher then that.

    3. lord-nikon Says:

well,if they set the bandwidth to 7Gb at speed of let’s say the maximum 16Mb/s “which i don’t think so” thin the 7Gb will end at the first two days.
the speed i mentioned above is very high,i think they will start with speed vary from 1MB/s to 1.5Mb/s which is good too.

    4. KhadijaTeri Says:

How much longer will we have to wait? … I am getting so fed up with only 7 GB download and slow connections (even on adsl).

    5. ashiz Says:

same question as khadija teri put in.HOW LONG IT’S GONNA TAKE.If anybody has reliable sources please let us know, ASAP

    6. Nasser Alferjani Says:

I heard from a reliable source that the distribution of the WIMAX will start in the middle of November……

Im not sure about the price or speed though….. I thought it was my duty to share it with everyone ;)

well , this company has been bleeding us dry for years now , it’s about time they provide us with some decent services , and what i’m really worried about is the download limit , i have no use of it if it was just 7GBs , u know i searched the net about varios internet providers in diffrent countrys and i found out that the least download limit given in most of them is 40GBs , and when the connection speed doesn’t exceed 8 MBs\s it’s unlimited , ahh LTT sucks

    8. wissam Says:

I think the limit will be free for a couple months, and after it will be 10gb.

    9. Nasser Alferjani Says:

The download limit in malta is 200GB!!!! They reached the speeds of 30mbits!! Malta!!!!! A small island in the middle of the Mediterranean sea… and Libya is in the top 10 of oil exploration and this is our state …… this sux!

    10. Bader Says:

For people low on gigabytes, you can get the madar gprs to download. It’s useless during the day, but if you wake up early every day (like 5 am) or if you sleep late >_>, you can download stuff then. (You can download at a rate up to 15kbps). So you can probably download your 100-200 MB files there. All I have to do is wait for the wimax cause I got no phone line here. :(

    11. Ashiz Says:

Hello Again!..Can anybody let us know about the release date?

    12. ????????? Says:

it will be released on 1/12/2008

    13. Bader Says:

Yes, it has been confirmed, on 1/12/2008, they even made a big advertisment on the road near zarqah al yamamah 2 (computer store). Heard the speed would be 10Mb or 2MBps (or it might be just 2 Mb not MB, big difference there).

    14. PinoyDisyerto Says:

Thats Good News!!! For those who live in Tripoli… But is it possible the WiMax will extend their services in the Libyan Dessert? Like Gialo and 103-D? Since more users will surely use their services. Like Al-Madar gprs are now working here and many mobile owners are using their gprs service. But better speed means better satisfaction you know?

      Inshalla…
